The Canal House is a typical canal style building dating from the turn of the century featuring tin and more tin, inside and out. Inside each room upstairs has embossed tin walls and ceilings, including chair rails in many different patterns. Outside the block design is actually tin. Apparently when it was built tin was very plentiful in the area.
Oliver's Meat Market occupied the downstairs for approximately 60 years with living quarters upstairs. It has been an Antique Shop for many years. In April of 2002 Deanna Boston and John Van Schoick reopened and revived the old name of Canal House Antiques.
Canal House Antiques is a small, friendly, two story shop of 12 dealers. There is a great variety of antiques and collectibles tastefully displayed to satisfy almost every interest. Browse our photo gallery to see what we have to offer.
